A Month In Review – January
It’s crazy to think we’ve already finished our first month of 2023!
Before you know it, spring will be here and we’ll be enjoying the warmer weather. That doesn’t mean we’re glad it’s going quickly; in fact, we wish we could have more time to make sure we start off the year even better than we already have.
After a well-deserved Christmas break the team jumped straight back into work with something to celebrate as our apprentice Leah had passed her NVQ qualification! Which means she has started the year as a fully formed member of BFRS.

We hit the ground running and got straight to work organising our extremely successful inaugural Military2Defence Insight Day which we held on the 26th January at RNAS in Yeovilton. With over 100 registered attendees coming to meet with the Forces Friendly defence sector companies that exhibited with us at this event. Attendees had the chance to explore the selection of defence & aerospace career opportunities on offer and talk directly with companies.
We also live streamed the event for the very first time allowing those at home to watch!
We also have to say a huge congratulations to one of our Marketing Lead, Billie Gilfillan, who is currently on maternity leave. Billie welcomed the newest member to her family with a beautiful baby girl. Everyone in the office couldn’t be happier for her and we’re looking forward to her return later in the year.
It’s amazing to see the plethora of new companies that have decided to partner with us this month, from online job packages to exhibiting at our events these Forces Friendly organisations are really putting in the work to ensure they hire members of the Armed Forces Community (AFC) to fill the skill gaps they have within their organisation.
