SSAFA’s Personal Support & Social Work Service has a vacancy for a full-time Personal & Family Support Worker at RAF Odiham in Hampshire. The service provides a professional, confidential and comprehensive range of social work and welfare support services to the RAF Community within the UK.

About the team

The Personal Support & Social Work Service comprises of 60 qualified and un-qualified social workers and administration support. We have a presence at RAF stations across the UK.

This role is located at RAF Odiham, part of the friendly and supportive South Team. We are a hard-working team, dispersed across the South of England. Although we all have our own area of responsibility, we support each other in delivering the best possible service to the military community. You’ll join us as we mark 30 years of serving the RAF as the PS & SWS.

About the role

This is a unique opportunity for an empathic person to join our team and contribute to the further development of the service. You will have the opportunity to develop and add to your existing skills and knowledge base in the Social Care field whilst providing welfare support to all serving RAF personnel, their immediate family and dependents. You’ll work closely with Station Commanding Officers across a vast geographical area, as well as with relevant Local Authorities, Health and other civilian agencies.
