Our client, ITS Technology Group and Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA) have entered into a Joint Venture agreement to Finance, Design, Build, Operate and Maintain a High Capacity Fibre Telecoms network. The network will connect all 6 local authority areas in the Liverpool Region, 23 public sector buildings, 29 business parks, 6046 private companies and 221 mobile operator connection points (4G & 5G), delivering Gigabit internet connectivity across the region.

Our clients are responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of the Network which extends over 211 km through all 6 local authority areas in the Liverpool Region. This opportunity creates over 20 new full-time roles within.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Design Engineer reports to the Design Manager:

- To address all essential details in the planning, design and deployment of Fiber Optic Networks

- To provide all details and drawings to support Permitting, Construction works and as built records.

MISSION & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide technical expertise in drawing production work such as analysis, fiber optic network design, Sizing and dimensioning, topology layout, fiber splice plans, cable duct and routing.

- The Design Engineer should take charge of different types and specifications of fiber optics and put into practice company, client and project design, and drafting standards.

- To identify and rectify any issues related to permits, approvals and other matters that may affect the project. They should take into consideration surrounding environments and the physical terrain for any equipment installation.

- Responsible for building BoQs for all the material, equipment and components required for the Network Implementation. Assist in the physical implementation of the design to avoid any complications. Create a documentation process to address potential issues among
technical staff during the installation process.....
