NetworkTraining & Resource Solutions (ntrs)welcomes you to visit our National Training Academy in Sheffield for our open days on Friday 26th October 2018 to discuss military resettlement telecoms training and career route paths into employment.  We recognise that this process doesn’t just involve you – it may also involve your family.  Due to health & safety, we cannot allow children within the facility on this occasion, however your partner, spouse or other significant person in your life is more than welcome to attend with you.

Our doors are open from 10am until 3pm for anyone wanting to visit to view our training facility and meet the training instructors, Eric Williams and David Mallinder who deliver our EAL Level 3 Digital Communications Network Infrastructures &Services course.

Eric began his career in the early 80’s in the 1st Battalion Walsh Guards in Signal Platoon and as Communication Systems Operator in The Royal Corps of Signals, reaching the rank of WO2, Eric has over 35 years’ experience in Communications.  During his 23 years in the Royal Corps of Signals, Eric became an expert in control and distribution of technical and Communications equipment which led to him becoming a Telecommunications instructor. Leaving the forces in 2005 with a passion for training, Eric joined The College Partnerships.  Utilising his passion for training, Eric joined Tresham College responsible for the training, delivery and assessment for the NVQ Diploma in Railway Engineering.  Progressing his career and developing his knowledge in education, Eric then went on to become a Quality Assurance Manager and Training Director before joining ntrs as our Lead Training Instructor.  Those of you who served alongside Eric may know him as Staff Sergeant Taff Williams or WO2 (SSM) Eric Williams.

David Mallinder served as a Royal Marine Sergeant, serving for 22 years and is also a Royal Air Force Reservist.  Beginning his career in 1984, David has been involved in multiple operations  David is a fully qualified A1 Assessor and Training Instructor who specialises in telecoms training, basic railway signalling as well as all aspects of working at height, rigging and small tools and plant equipment.  Those of you who served alongside David may know him as Dave/ Mal.

The ntrs wider team are also on hand to meet you and deal with all queries.

Claire Halkyard our Office Manager, served as a Personnel Administrator in the RAF and during her service was deployed to Basra.  Claire was relocated to Holland before returning to the UK with her children, leaving her serving RAF husband behind to finish his tour.  Claire has experience of both transitioning into civilian life, and being a military spouse.  Claire is an advocate of providing advice and guidance for military spouses and partners so will be on hand to deal with any of the relocation, new career and compassionate queries that you may have.​​

Lauren Renwick is our inhouse employability advisor and will be on hand to talk you through the many employment options, training in telecoms can provide.  You may have met Lauren already as she is a regular face on the military training and career event circuit.  Whilst still in the early stages of her career, Lauren is forging herself a fantastic reputation specialising in the recruitment of current or past members of the Armed Forces.
