Interested in personal or professional development, learning a new language, improving your transferable skills or considering leaving the Army, there is something for everyone at 3 AEC Group's Festival of Learning.
A number of external providers, Learning and Development Officers, Individual Education and Resettlement Officers will be available throughout the day to offer advice and guidance to enable you to achieve your goals.

The Festival of Learning will take place during the National Adult Learners Week #LoveToLearn and is an opportunity to get external learning providers and personnel all together in one place.
There are over a number of local providers to Catterick Garrison and York Garrison in the table below who will be attending the Festival's and cumulatively offering in excess of 100 courses that are suitable for Military personnel to utilise their Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC):
York St John University | CMI |
Intertrain UK Ltd | Learner Driving Centre (Teaching Driving Ltd) |
Kaplan Open Learning TA University of Essex Online | 3B Training Ltd |
Universal Skills Centre | Warrior Programme |
Teesside University | CHRysos HR Solutions |
Infratec-UK Ltd | BetterTraining.Org |
RHG Consult Ltd | The University of York |
University of Northumbria at Newcastle | Tony Swainston Ltd |
Hopefully there is something suitable for ‘everyone’ and the aim is that by education officers and staff there to inform and support Military personnel about the application process that it removes some of the fear of the unknown that may prevent them from utilising these great opportunities. In my experience the majority of people using ELCs are looking to gain qualifications to help them secure jobs outside of the military as part of their resettlement plan so this could provide a useful opportunity to those who you come in contact with to see what’s on offer.
There will also be information available about a range of other opportunities including but not limited to Standard Learning Credits (SLCs), resettlement, transferable skills, commissioning, functional skills, free GCSE’s in Maths and English, external placements (academic and Industry), languages and the University Short Course Programme (USCP).
