About the role

Babcock has been selected as the Metropolitan Police Service's (Met Police) learning partner, working with a consortium of four London-based universities - Anglia Ruskin University, Brunel University London, University of East London and University of West London - to support the UK's largest police service with the training of its new officer recruits from 2020.

As a Marker you will be responsible for marking student assessments in line with marking criteria ensuring accuracy and consistency of assessment grades across the internal delivered provision for the PEQF contract.

The topics you will be assessing are based around operational policing such as stop and search, crime scene investigation and interviewing techniques. This role can be based fully remote anywhere in the UK.


What do I need to be able to do the role?

You will need to have served as a Police officer and have a level 6 qualification as a minimum. You will also need to have knowledge of marking to assessment guides and assessment criteria or experience of working within a training environment.

Within the role we will provide on the job training as well as supporting you through a level 7 qualification such as a PGCHE.

We would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Minimum Level 6 qualified.
  • Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent
